The Details
Membership is individual and non-transferable. Upon acceptance, every member binds themselves to abide by the rules, bylaws and regulations of the Renegade Flyers, the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC) and Transport Canada.
The club will review all membership applications and we reserve the right to refuse membership to any individual. No application will be refused based on any of the prohibited grounds as laid out in the Canadian Human Rights Act.
We welcome interested fixed-wing pilots of any skill or background. We will provide instruction, as instructor availability exists, for those members who require it.
New pilots are accepted year-round, but training can be sporadic over the winter months as our typical wet weather can make instruction difficult.
Annual Membership fees
We are introducing a simpler membership fee system starting for 2026. Existing members will receive reminder emails with more information as we approach year end.
New members joining after September 1st of any given year shall receive a membership for the remainder of that calendar year and all of the following year. This aligns with the same scheme offered by MAAC.
New members:
NEW ADULT MEMBER – $225
New member who is 18 years of age and over and is active in the flying of radio control model aircraft.
NEW JUNIOR MEMBER – $75
New member who is under 18 years of age and is active in the flying of radio control model aircraft.
NEW FAMILY MEMBERSHIP – $250
New family membership including the parent / grandparent / legal guardian of junior members, all of whom are active in the flying of radio control model aircraft.
Renewing members:
ADULT MEMBER – $175
Existing member is a member who is 18 years of age and over and is active in the flying of radio control model aircraft.
JUNIOR MEMBER – $50
Existing junior member is a member who is under 18 years of age and is active in the flying of radio control model aircraft.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP – $200
Existing family membership is a member who is the parent / grandparent / legal guardian of junior members, all of whom are active in the flying of radio control model aircraft and have a MAAC number.
Other memberships:
ASSOCIATE MEMBER – $25
An associate member is a member who is inactive in the flying of radio control model aircraft but wishes to fraternize with members of the club.
